Hello,
My name is Nicole Wilson-Faniel and I am the esteemed founder and owner of T.R.U.E. Self Counseling LLC (TSC). I believe myself to be a quite well rounded being and here is why: I am a spiritual being with great energy who loves to empower others. I am an emotional being who cares deeply about the experiences of others. I am an honest being who is unafraid to hold space for accountability and vulnerability. I am a nurturing being who loves to pour into others. I am an energetic being who loves to laugh, smile, dance and learn. I am a fallible being that sometimes fumble and fall and I am okay with that. I am a human being.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Saint Josephs College, CT; a Master's Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, NY and I am a PH.D candidate (2024) at Smith College, MA.
I bring with me over 20 years of experience working as a Clinician across diverse domains, settings, ages and populations. My clinical experience includes time spent as an in-home Therapist with MST at Wheeler Clinic, a crisis Clinician with CHR's Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services; a Clinical School Social Worker with CREC's Farmington Valley Diagnostic Center, an outpatient Clinician with The Institute of Living's Partial Hospital (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Services and as a Therapist working in Private Practice.
At TSC, I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults and adults. I also spend time pouring into Clinicians and Interns; teaching, supervising and supporting them as they grow in their clinical careers.
I'm also passionate about giving back to our communities and to the field of Social Work. I have 5 years of experience teaching as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University.
Look, this thing called life can be a hot mess at times and we find ourselves in situations and/or experiencing things we probably wouldn't wish on our worst enemies...but here we still stand! Whether we know it or not, whether we acknowledge it or not, we are resilient people. However, our resiliency is only half the battle, now we need to learn how to navigate life, set appropriate boundaries, cope, heal and embrace our evolution of self. The good news... you are not alone and do not need to embark this journey alone.
At TSC, we are passionate about the quality of care and life for BIPOC people; especially Black and Brown people. So....give us a call! We look forward to meeting you, supporting you through the difficulties and celebrating healing and positive changes with you.
Blessings,
Nicole
