Originally from the greater Hartford area, Nikia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Following graduation, she was a research assistant at the University of Connecticut's Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service. Additionally, she worked as a therapeutic mentor for at-risk youth. With nearly two decades of experience, Nikia has been employed by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), providing direct care and support to individuals in inpatient psychiatric settings. Specifically, she has dedicated over fifteen years to the Young Adult Services (YAS) unit at Connecticut Valley Hospital. Nikia will soon receive her Master of Science in Counseling and Human Services from Post University.

Nikia finds immense joy in being a mother to her five wonderful children and a devoted wife to her husband. As a parent of three children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), she possesses a unique interest and deep passion for individuals with ASD and their families. In addition, Nikia takes pleasure in working with couples and individuals facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and parenting issues, among others. She eagerly anticipates inspiring individuals and families to overcome life's challenges, empowering them to achieve the joy and happiness they rightfully deserve.
