Magdaly (Maggie) is a bilingual/bicultural student psychotherapist, born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Maggie takes great pride in her non-judgmental demeanor and assisting clients in embracing change while providing safe and secure environments for healing. Her dedication and passion are particularly evident in her work with individuals who have experienced and survived trauma.

In addition to her commitment as a full-time student, Magdaly also holds a position with the State of Connecticut at the Department of Social Services. Over the past decade, she has been dedicated to assisting the community in accessing public benefits and entitlement services. Her experience includes working with the elderly and individuals with disabilities, offering support services to include counseling, and advocacy in navigating and obtaining the necessary resources for Clients to maintain independent lives within their communities.
Her professional work experience and background includes facilitating sessions with individuals, families & groups; servicing adolescents, young adults & adults. Magdaly has also worked as a clinical coordinator, responsible for overseeing intakes, referrals, billing, and ensuring the continuity of care for clients.
Her internship experiences include work in group homes for incarcerated adults with chronic mental illness and providing support services to students at Eastern CT State University.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Magdaly takes pride in her role as an empty nester who successfully raised three children as a single mother. She has firsthand experience in caring for children with mental health, neurological disorders and is currently devoted to raising her nonverbal granddaughter, who has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Magdaly's aspirations include working as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) upon graduation and dreams of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the coming years.behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

Vanity obtained a degree in Child and Family Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and began her career working with the Intensive In-home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service (IICAPS) at the Community Child Guidance Clinic. Within the IICAPS program, Vanity provided services to children and families who experienced extreme difficulties with behavioral and mental health issues. She continued working within the mental health field in many capacities throughout the years (care coordination and foster care social services). These experiences eventually led to her current position at The Institute of Living (IOL) within the inpatient and intensive outpatient units servicing children and adolescents ranging in ages from 11-18.
With years of experience in the mental health field, Vanity's is passionate about providing support and helping in efforts to provide adequate care for the Black and Brown community - a community that is oftentimes hesitant to seek out therepeutic supports.
With the desire to provide solutions and better resources to our Black and Brown community, Vanity is currently enrolled at Springfield College in efforts to obtain a Masters in Social Work. She moves with the mantra "progression over perfection" as a reminder to use every lesson to guide the journey forward and the important work ahead.

Ariana is bilingual and is committed to supporting clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth, providing them with the assistance and guidance they need to navigate life's challenges.
